RustSurvivor docs
Everything you need: setup, the dashboard, raid alerts, every command, the Discord bot and fixes for common problems.
A1Start here
Getting started
RustSurvivor connects to your Rust server and stays online for you. Setup takes about five minutes.
What RustSurvivor is
RustSurvivor is a Rust+ companion that never logs off. It connects through the official Rust+ companion feature (the same one the Rust+ app uses) and stays connected when you are offline.
- Answers team-chat commands like
!popand!turrets on. - Sends Smart Alarm raid alerts to the dashboard, team chat, Discord and Telegram.
- Lets you control your base, see the live map and track your team from any browser, on phone or PC.
- Answers Rust questions with its own AI, in game (
!ai), in Discord (/ai) and on the website.
It never asks for your Steam password; you sign in with Steam's official login. RustSurvivor is a community project and is not affiliated with Facepunch or Valve.
5-minute setup
- Go to rustsurvivor.com/start and sign in with Steam.
- Link your Discord account when asked. Every account needs Discord linked.
- Install the browser extension. It connects your Rust+ companion login (needed once).
- Join your Rust server, open the Escape menu → Rust+ → Pair Server. The server appears in your dashboard automatically.
- Pair your devices: look at a Smart Switch, Smart Alarm or Storage Monitor, hold E and choose Pair.
- Open the dashboard at rustsurvivor.com/app (Pro or trial) and you are set.
No Pro yet? Try everything free for 24 hours at /freetrial.
Guided tour and setup checklist
The first time you open the dashboard, a short tour shows where everything is: Servers, Discord bot, Telegram, Trackers, Team stats, Workflows, Settings, the tools, Ask AI and your plan. The first time you open a server panel, a second tour shows the header, Team link, Chat, Devices, Automation, Timers, the map tools, the right-hand tabs, Connect apps and Settings.
- Move with Next and Previous (or the arrow keys). Skip or Esc closes it.
- Each tour shows once, on its own, the first time. Skip, Esc or leaving the page ends it for good, on every device.
- Replay it any time with the small tour button (graduation cap) at the top right of the dashboard or the server panel. The account menu → Take the tour works too.
- The Get set up checklist on Overview tracks the first steps: pair a server, link Discord, add the bot, link Telegram (Pro or Beta), set up raid alarms, track a player, set your base zone and try a workflow (Pro). Each item ticks itself when it is done, and Show me takes you there.
- Hide or dismiss the checklist any time; account menu → Setup checklist brings it back.
Browser extension
The RustSurvivor extension links your Rust+ companion login so pairings from the game reach your account. You only need it during setup.
Looking for the BattleMetrics/Steam player panel? That is a separate free extension: SmartIntel.
Pairing servers and devices
- Server: in-game, Escape → Rust+ → Pair Server. You can pair as many servers as you like; each has its own settings.
- Devices: look at a Smart Switch, Smart Alarm or Storage Monitor, hold E → Pair. It shows up in the dashboard and in commands.
- Names matter: a switch named “turrets” can be controlled with
!turrets on. Rename devices in the dashboard or the Rust+ app. - After a wipe: devices reset. Pair the server again if it shows offline, then pair your devices again.
- Pairing the same server again (same IP and port, even after removing it) keeps everything: devices, map notes, farm routes, trackers, settings, Discord links, shared map links, team sharing, workflows, timers, base zone and wipe history move to the server, without duplicates. You get a notice like “Re-paired: kept 12 devices, 4 notes, 2 routes, 9 trackers and settings”.

- What you get: every Pro feature with half the Pro limits: 20 tracked players (Pro 40), 50 AI questions a day (Pro 100), the bot in 5 Discord servers (Pro 10), 150 map notes and 50 farm routes per server, and Telegram alerts.
- How to join: sign in with Steam, then connect Discord. In the RustSurvivor Discord, open a ticket, pick Beta access and enter your SteamID64 or Steam profile link. The bot checks the link, gives you the Beta role and turns Beta on for your account.
- Already on Pro or a trial? You always get the higher limit of the two, and paid Pro is never cut down by Beta.
- Badge: your plan card on the dashboard and Billing show a Beta badge and your limits.
Renewals, cancelling, receipts
- Auto-renew: Pro renews automatically each month or year until you cancel.

- Tax: VAT/sales tax depends on your country and is added at checkout.
- Payments are handled by Creem. RustSurvivor never sees or stores card details.
- Refunds: access is instant, so payments are generally non-refundable once active. Billing mistakes and double charges are always fixed: email contact@rustsurvivor.com. Full policy in the Terms.
Invite friends (coming soon)
- Coming soon: invite friends and you both get 3 days of Pro. Invites are not live yet, so there is no invite link for now.
- Where: Invite friends (account menu, marked Soon) will show your personal link once invites open.
- Until then: every account can try full Pro free for 24 hours, once, with no card needed.
Gift Pro to a friend
- Buy: on Pro or Plans, press Gift Pro and pick 1 month ($6) or 1 year ($48). You pay once: a gift never renews and is never charged again. You need to be signed in.
- Who gets it: enter your friend's Steam ID or profile link (only that account can redeem it), or just take the gift link and send it yourself. You can add a short message (up to 200 characters).
- Redeem: your friend opens the link, signs in with Steam and presses Redeem. Pro starts right away, on top of any Pro or trial time they have. If they already subscribe, the days are saved and start after their paid period, so renewals are not affected.
- Your gifts: Billing → Gifts you've sent shows each gift's status and a Copy link button. A friend with Discord linked also gets a DM.
- Expiry: a gift that is not redeemed within 1 year of purchase expires. You cannot redeem your own gift; to get Pro yourself, use the normal checkout.
- Refunds: a refunded gift stops working. If it was already redeemed, the gift days that are left are removed.
C1Dashboard
Dashboard guide
The dashboard lives at rustsurvivor.com/app and needs Pro or a trial. Here is what each tab does.
Overview
Your servers, team and recent activity at a glance, with quick links to Team Stats, Workflows and Team Sharing. Your linked Discord account is shown here too.
Servers
Every server you paired in-game. Open a server to get the live panel, copy its client.connect address, or delete it. It also checks your Rust+ login and shows the extension install links if you still need them.
Discord
Add the RustSurvivor bot to your Discord servers and see the servers where you added it. See Discord bot.
Telegram bot
Right under Discord Bot: link the RustSurvivor Telegram bot (Open Telegram, a QR for your phone, or the bot's code), pick which alerts you get, mute, send a test and set up the alarm sound. Same as rustsurvivor.com/app?tab=telegram. See Telegram alerts.
Team Stats
Pick a server to see your team's playtime (real time without AFK), deaths, raids and activity for the current wipe or one day. Totals count your current team only, sessions end when a player stops sending updates, and the Next online window forecast uses this wipe's real play time. Click Summarize for an AI summary that only repeats these verified numbers. Archived servers keep their history after a wipe.
Player lookup
Look up any player by SteamID or Steam profile: hours, K/D, accuracy, kills and more.
Wipe calendar
Every busy Rust server from BattleMetrics with its last and next wipe, players and queue, and a countdown to the next force wipe (first Thursday of the month, 19:00 London time). Tabs split Official, Community and Modded with live counts; filter by region, group limit, gather rate, wipe schedule, when it last wiped, when it wipes next, players online and organization, and sort any column. The filters stay in the address, so you can share a view. Just wiped and Wiping soon badges and the Incoming wipes strip show what is happening in the next 6 hours. Open a server for its page: a Before joining summary, its description, the population of the last 7 days with wipes marked, players around recent wipes, the queue, its wipe history with the usual wipe day and time, the current map (RustMaps), Copy connect, Join server and more servers from the same organization. Press the star to follow a server: followed and paired servers show first, they are listed under Following, and with Telegram linked you get a message about an hour before the next wipe. Next wipes a server does not publish are estimated and marked Est.; rate, group limit and schedule tags with a dashed border are inferred from the server's name, tags, description or wipe history. Also free at rustsurvivor.com/tools/wipe-calendar.
Workflows
No-code automations. Pick a trigger (Smart Alarm, smart switch, time of day, teammate status, player proximity or manual), optional conditions (day/night, population, switch state…) and actions (toggle a switch, Discord alert, team chat message, wait). Templates include Raid alert, Auto lights and AFK guardian. Toggle a rule off to pause it.
Team Sharing
Give teammates Manager or Viewer access to a server. Full guide in Team Sharing.
Conveyors Filter
The Conveyors Filter tab: save your industrial conveyor item filters once, then copy the in-game JSON every wipe instead of setting them up by hand.
Free tools
The Tools group has the raid and recycler calculators, the genetics calculator (plants: tap, paste or scan your clone genes from a screenshot and get a planter layout and breeding plan; animals: calf odds and the best pair for cows and sheep), the electricity planner and console commands (player commands, a keybind builder, FPS profiles and an Admin filter with server admin commands for owners and RCON). On a computer, Scan Rust shares the game window with the page and adds each plant's genes as you click it in your inventory or look at it in a planter, read on your computer with nothing uploaded or recorded. On a phone, Scan with your phone camera: point it at the monitor showing the genes, fill the box with the 6 gene squares, hold steady and capture, then check and fix the genes before they are added. They are also free for everyone at rustsurvivor.com/tools, with the wipe calendar.
Settings
At the top, the 🚨 Smart Alarm card holds every alarm setting (see Smart Alarms). Below it, the In-game and Discord tabs: command prefix (default !), which messages the bot posts in team chat (switches, respawns, decay, AFK, joins, deaths, tracker), Discord notifications, streamer mode and language. Linking Telegram and adding the Discord bot live in the Telegram bot and Discord Bot tabs (on a server page: the Connect apps tab).

Raid alerts
Pair a Smart Alarm in your base and RustSurvivor warns you everywhere, even when you are offline.
Smart Alarms
When a paired Smart Alarm triggers you get a popup on the dashboard (with an optional siren), a team-chat message, a Discord ping and a Telegram alert. Wire the alarm in-game (for example to an HBHF sensor or turret) and pair it with hold E → Pair.
Every alarm setting is in one card: Settings → 🚨 Smart Alarm (the same card is in a server's Settings). Turn each place on or off: In game (team chat), Discord (with Ping on raids: None, @here or @everyone, and Read raid alerts aloud (Discord TTS)), Telegram and This website (the raid popup, with Alarm sound). Below that is online raid mode, then Your alarms: each paired alarm with Rename (its name and the message your team sees), Sound and Test. In Discord, the 🚨 Smart Alarm group in #settings has the same switches. In game, !alarms lists your alarms and !alarm <name> shows one.
Online raid mode (Pro): alarms keep going off and nobody on the team is online? After the normal Discord alert, a loud Telegram alert that repeats and a last Discord ping (after 5 minutes by default). With 📞 Phone call on (off by default), still nobody answering gets a real phone call the same number of minutes later: a voice reads the alarm and server name twice, and pressing 1 says you're on it (like I'm on it on Telegram, it stops the escalation and tells your team). Calls go out on your own call provider account: under Set up phone pick Twilio,Telnyx or Plivo and paste its keys and the phone number you got there (the card shows the steps for each; the provider bills you per call). RustSurvivor checks them with the provider, saves them encrypted on your account only and never shows them again (only a masked ID); nobody else's calls use them. Then add your own number: international format (like +447700900123), a consent box, Send test call and type the 4-digit code it reads. Only the server owner and Team Sharing teammates who set this up on their own account are called. At most 1 call per 10 minutes per server and 6 a day per account. Phone calls are part of Pro (Beta and the trial see it locked); Remove keys and Remove number delete them at once.
Alarm sound: pick the popup sound (Siren, the default, Klaxon, Triple beep, Rising sweep, Buzzer or Chime), whether it loops until someone taps I'm on it or Dismiss (on by default, up to 60 seconds) and the volume, with a Preview button. That is your default for every alarm; Sound on one alarm in Your alarms gives it its own. When anyone taps I'm on it in the popup or on the Telegram alert, the siren stops on every teammate's open server page and the popup shows who took it. Telegram plays its own sound (/sound in the Telegram bot).
Every alert shows when the alarm really went off, for example fired 21:04:12, 2s ago (team chat and Telegram in UTC, this website in your own time, Discord in each reader's time), and delivered 40s late when the push was slow. After a reconnect or a restart an alarm that was already delivered is never sent again.
Discord alerts
Add the bot and run /install (see Discord bot). Raids and alarms go to #alerts (raids ping @everyone by default; pick None, @here or @everyone in the 🚨 Smart Alarm settings). Turn on Read raid alerts aloud (Discord TTS) there and Discord reads each raid alert out loud, for example “Raid alarm, Main base, Rusty Moose”, at most once every 30 seconds per server (off by default; the bot needs the Send Text-to-Speech Messages permission). Team updates go to #activity, tracked players to #tracker. Every message names the server it came from. Turn Discord notifications on or off in Settings.
Alert messages (your wording)
Write the main alerts in your own words in Settings → ⚙️ Advanced → ✏️ Alert messages (also in a server's Settings): Smart alarm, Online raid (nobody online), Teammate online, Teammate offline, Teammate died, Timer finished, Timer reminder and TC decay. Pick the alert, type your text and use placeholders such as {name}, {player}, {grid}, {server}, {time}, {count} and {message} (each alert lists the ones it fills, with buttons to insert them). A live preview shows it with sample values; Reset to default brings back the usual text.
One text per alert is used in team chat and as the Discord alert text (the Discord title stays). Set it for All servers or for one server; a server's own text wins. Up to 200 characters; @everyone, @here and role or user mentions are removed; an unknown {word} stays as it is; an empty or broken text falls back to the usual one. In game, long text is split into several team chat lines. In Discord, the ✏️ Alert messages message in #settings changes the All servers text. Telegram keeps its own alert cards.
Telegram alerts
Telegram alerts are part of Pro and the open beta (staff too). The free trial and the free plan don't include them. A chat linked before you lost Pro or Beta stays linked but paused: no alerts until you have Pro or Beta again, then it starts by itself. You can still unlink it any time.
- Open rustsurvivor.com/app?tab=telegram (or the Telegram bot tab in the dashboard, or Connect apps → Telegram bot on a server page) and tap Open Telegram. On a computer, use QR for phone and scan it.
- Press Start in the @RustSurvivor_bot chat. The page switches to Linked on its own.
- Tap Send test alert (or send
/testto the bot) to check it arrives.
Raid alarms are sent with sound and repeat every minute (up to 5 times) until someone taps I'm on it. Telegram follows your phone's silent mode; for a real phone call, turn on 📞 Phone call in Online raid mode (Pro, see Smart Alarms). Repeat triggers during one raid update the same message with a counter instead of sending a new one. Your Team Sharing teammates get the alerts too once they link their own Telegram. Use a team group sends a server's alerts to a Telegram group so the whole team wakes up, and anyone in the group can tap I'm on it or mute.
Choose what you get on the website or with /alerts in the bot (same switches): raid alarms, online raid alerts, TC decay, team deaths, tracked players, clan radar, team online/offline, AFK, workflow alerts, wipes, connection lost and the weekly digest. Urgent ones are loud and repeat; wipes, online/offline, AFK and the digest arrive silently. /mute 1h pauses everything (raid alarms included), /unmute turns it back on. During Online raid mode, I'm on it on the Telegram online raid alert also stops the escalation.
Make raid alerts sound like an alarm. Set our raid alarm tone as the bot chat's notification sound:
- Send
/soundto the bot (or tap Send alarm sound on rustsurvivor.com/app?tab=telegram). You can also play or download the tone there. - Long-press the audio message (Android: its ⋮ menu) → Save for notifications.
- Tap the chat's name → Notifications → Sound → pick RustSurvivor Raid Alarm.
- Optional: let Telegram break through Do Not Disturb. iPhone: Settings → Focus → your Focus → Apps → add Telegram. Android: Settings → Notifications → Telegram → Override Do Not Disturb (or priority).
This only changes the sound of the RustSurvivor bot chat. A team group needs the same steps inside the group.
What an alert looks like. The first line says what happened and which alarm (RAID ALARM · Main base), the second where and when (grid, server, time), so the phone notification alone tells you enough. Every alert has buttons: I'm on it (stops the repeats and tells the team, in the group and in each teammate's chat, who has it), Mute 1h, Open map (the server's live map) and Server status (a popup with players and who is online, nothing posted in the chat).
Menu. Send /menu (or /start once linked) for one message with buttons: Status, Servers, Alerts on/off, Mute, Test alarm, Alarm sound, Account and Help. Each button updates that same message instead of sending new ones. In a chat that isn't linked yet the bot answers in one line with a Link this chat button that opens the website with the code filled in.
Bot commands: /menu, /status, /alerts, /mute, /unmute, /test, /team, /servers, /sound (our raid alarm tone for the chat's notification sound), /unlink, /help. Telegram's command menu shows them in your app's language. If the card says Bot blocked, open the bot and tap Restart (or add it back to the group), then send a test.
In-game messages
The bot can post in team chat when alarms trigger, switches change, teammates respawn, join, leave or go AFK, tracked players come online and when Tool Cupboard upkeep runs low. Pick exactly which ones in Settings.

E2Docs
RustSurvivor AI
Ask Rust questions anywhere: in game, in Discord and on the website. The AI runs on RustSurvivor's own server.
Where to use it
- In game: type
!ai <question>in team chat, e.g.!ai how many rockets for an armored door. - Discord:
/ai question:<anything>. Addprivate:trueto see the answer alone. - Website: the Ask AI button on the dashboard and in each server's live panel. In the panel it knows that server's players, wipe and time.
- Team Stats: Summarize writes a short summary of your team's verified stats.
Real Rust data
Raid costs, crafting, recycling, research, stack sizes, decay and upkeep come from real Rust data, not from the AI's memory. A question that names an explosive and a target, like !ai how many c4 for a stone wall, is answered straight from that data. Tips and general questions come from a small AI model and can be wrong, so double-check anything important.
Daily questions
Questions a day, shared between !ai, /ai and the website:
- Pro: 100.
- Free trial: 20.
- Teammates of a Pro player (on their server or in their Discord): 25.
The owner chooses whether teammates can use !ai in game and how many questions each teammate gets per hour (1, 3, 5, 10 or unlimited; 5 by default), under Settings, Ask AI, or in Discord #settings. The owner and staff are never limited by these.
Type !ai on its own to see what is left. It resets at 00:00 UTC.
Ask by voice and read answers aloud
- Speak a question: tap the mic next to Send in the Ask AI panel. What you say appears in the box and you can edit it before sending; listening stops by itself when you go quiet.
- Push-to-talk: on a computer, hold
Spacewhile the question box is empty. On a phone, press and hold the mic. Listening stops when you let go. - Send automatically when I stop talking: a switch under the box, off by default.
- Read answers aloud: the speaker button in the panel header (off by default, remembered on that device). Every answer also has a Listen button to replay it, and Stop ends it. Reading stops when you close the panel or ask something new.
- Language: the mic listens in your saved translate language, else your browser language. Answers are read with a voice in the answer's language.
- Browsers: voice input works in Chrome, Edge and Safari (Firefox has no speech recognition; the mic is greyed out). Reading aloud works in all of them.
- Second screen: open a server's live panel on your phone while you play and tap the mic in Ask AI.
- Privacy: your browser or phone turns speech into text with its own speech service (in Chrome that can be Google's). RustSurvivor never receives or stores audio, only the text you send.
- Mic blocked? Allow the microphone for this site from the icon left of the address bar, then tap the mic again.
F1Discord
Discord bot
Get alerts and control your base from Discord.
Add the bot
- In the dashboard open the Discord Bot tab and click Add bot to server. On a server page the Connect apps tab → Discord bot walks you through the same steps for that server.
- In your Discord server run
/install(Pro). It creates a RustSurvivor category with the channels below, shared by all your servers. - Let other people see the channels with
/role add(or pick a role in/install). By default only you and the bot can see them.
The Discord Bot tab shows how many Discord servers your plan allows and, for each Discord server with the bot, which game servers post there, whether /install ran, which channels exist or are missing, the access role and any bot permission or role order problem. The Connect apps tab on a server page shows the same for that one server.
Only the person who installed the bot in a Discord server can run /install, /uninstall and /clear there, and only they see the #settings channel.
The channels
One set of channels for all your servers. Every message shows which server it comes from.
#information: bot status, your plan and a guide to the channels. Every Tuesday the Weekly report of each server lands here too: raids on your base, team deaths and active teammates of the week before (turn it off in Settings → Discord → Weekly report).#servers: one live message per server with players, time, wipe, the map and your team (online, AFK, dead, offline, map grid and Steam profile links).#team-chat: live team chat. Your team's in-game chat appears here, and anything you write is sent to the team in game. Reply to a line to send to that server only;!commandswork here too.#clan-chat: your in-game clan with its name, MOTD, score and every member (online status, role, Steam profile), plus every clan chat message live. Write here to talk in clan chat.#switches: every smart device per server with on/off buttons, Rename and Pair device. New devices show up as soon as you pair them.#activity: teammates coming online or going offline, deaths, AFK, joins and leaves.#tracker: a live list of every player you track (online first, with the server they play on and when they were last seen), plus an alert each time one comes online or goes offline. Add players with/tracker addor the Trackers tab.#alerts: raids and Smart Alarms with @everyone and the alarm's in-game details, storage and wipes.#settings: every setting from the website's Settings page as buttons (on/off), menus (language, command prefix, where bot messages go…) and ✏️ editors (AFK time, message delay). A change shows up on the website and in game right away, and website changes update here. Only the person who installed the bot sees this channel and can change them.
Members can read every channel except #settings (installer only); only #team-chat and #clan-chat accept messages. Buttons work everywhere.
Slash commands

Community roles
In the RustSurvivor Discord, roles follow your plan automatically:
- Free Trial when you start the trial, Pro when your payment goes through.
- Free Trial Expired / Pro Expired when it ends (the active role is removed).
Roles only work if your Discord is linked on rustsurvivor.com and you are in the RustSurvivor Discord.
G1Access
Team Sharing
Let teammates use your server. They do not need their own Pro plan.
Invite a teammate
- Open the Team Sharing tab in the dashboard and pick a server. Only the server owner can share.
- Add a teammate by SteamID64 (17 digits) or pick them from your in-game team.
- Choose Manager or Viewer.
Teammates who are in your in-game Rust team can also get Viewer access automatically when they open the server link.
Manager and Viewer
- Manager: can use live tools and control smart devices, chat and settings.
- Viewer: read-only. Can watch the map, team and devices but cannot toggle anything or create automations.
For teammates
Sign in at rustsurvivor.com with the Steam account that was invited, link Discord, then open rustsurvivor.com/shared. No Pro needed.
Change or remove access
The owner can change roles or remove people at any time. Removal is immediate and the person is not re-added automatically. Deleting a server removes everyone's access to it.
G2Integrations
API & Home Assistant
Control your smart switches and get alarms in Home Assistant, IFTTT, Alexa or Google (through Home Assistant) and Stream Deck. Pro and the open beta.
API tokens
Go to Settings → ⚙️ Advanced, card 🔌 API & Home Assistant, and press Create token. The token starts with rs_ and is shown once: copy it then. After that only its last 4 characters are shown. We store only a hash of it.
- read: servers, devices and recent alarms. control (the "Can switch devices" switch): also turn smart switches on and off.
- Up to 5 tokens per account, 60 requests a minute per token (then HTTP 429 with Retry-After).
- Revoke a token any time: it stops working at once.
- Team Sharing works as on the website: a Viewer can read the server but never switch, even with a control token.
REST endpoints
Base URL https://rustsurvivor.com/api/v1, header Authorization: Bearer rs_…, JSON in and out.
GET /servers: your servers with id, name, online and players.GET /servers/{id}/devices: switches, alarms and storage monitors (entity id, name, type, state).GET /servers/{id}/devices/{entityId}: one device.POST /servers/{id}/devices/{entityId}/switchwith{"state": "on"}(or off, toggle). Needs the control scope.GET /servers/{id}/alarms/recent: the last smart alarm triggers.
curl -X POST https://rustsurvivor.com/api/v1/servers/SERVER_ID/devices/12345678/switch \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $RUSTSURVIVOR_TOKEN" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"state": "toggle"}'Errors are JSON like {"error": "...", "code": "VIEWER"}. A switch goes through the same Rust+ path as the website, so the server must be connected.
Webhooks
Add up to 5 https URLs and pick events: smart alarm, online raid, teammate online/offline/died, switch changed, tracker online/offline, timer finished, server wiped. We POST:
{ "event": "smart_alarm", "serverId": "…", "serverName": "Rusty Moose",
"data": { "alarmName": "Core alarm", "grid": "G7" }, "firedAt": "2026-10-26T20:15:00.000Z" }- Each request has
X-RustSurvivor-Signature: sha256=…, an HMAC-SHA256 of the body with the webhook's secret (shown once when you add it). Check it to know the request came from us. - https only, port 443 or 8443, and a public address: home network and local IPs are refused.
- 5 second timeout, 3 retries. After 20 failed deliveries in a row the webhook is turned off; the card shows the last 20 deliveries and a Test button.
- Workflows can call a saved webhook too: action Call webhook.
Home Assistant setup
- Create a token with "Can switch devices" on.
- In Home Assistant's
secrets.yamladdrustsurvivor_token: "Bearer rs_…". - On the card pick a server and press Copy Home Assistant config: it fills in your server id and every switch. Paste it into
configuration.yamland restart. - For alarms add your Home Assistant webhook URL (for example your Nabu Casa address +
/api/webhook/rustsurvivor_…) as a webhook on the card.
# RustSurvivor -> Home Assistant (Example)
# 1) secrets.yaml (keep the word Bearer and the space):
# rustsurvivor_token: "Bearer rs_your_token_here"
# 2) Paste the blocks below into configuration.yaml and restart Home Assistant.

Home Assistant's webhook trigger does not check our signature: keep the webhook id long and secret, as above.
IFTTT, Alexa, Google, Stream Deck
- Alexa and Google: expose the RustSurvivor switches from Home Assistant to them (Nabu Casa or the manual integrations). We do not have our own Alexa or Google skill.
- IFTTT: use a Webhooks applet. As a trigger, add the IFTTT "Receive a web request with a JSON payload" URL as a webhook here. As an action, "Make a web request": POST to the switch URL with the Authorization header and
{"state": "toggle"}. - Stream Deck: the built-in "Website" action only opens a GET page, which cannot switch. Use a plugin that sends HTTP requests with headers (for example "API Ninja" or "Web Requests") and POST
{"state": "toggle"}to the switch URL. Or press a Home Assistant button with the Home Assistant Stream Deck plugin.
H1Extension

Troubleshooting
The most common problems and how to fix them.
My server shows offline or the bot disconnected
Servers restart and wipe. Open the dashboard and click Connect on the server. After a map wipe you may need to pair the server again in-game (Esc → Rust+ → Pair Server).
My smart devices disappeared after wipe
Devices are reset on every wipe. Pair them again in-game: look at the device, hold E and choose Pair. Last wipe’s map notes and farm routes are cleared at the wipe too; trackers, settings and Discord stay.
Commands do not answer in game
Type them in TEAM chat (not global), use the right prefix (default !), check the command is not turned off in Settings and that the server shows Live in the dashboard. If you were muted, a teammate can use !unmute.
Cargo, heli, oil rig or vending alerts stopped working
Rust (Facepunch) stopped sending these map markers to Rust+. No Rust+ tool can show them anymore, and there is nothing to fix in settings.
It keeps asking me to link Discord
Every account must link Discord once. Click Connect Discord, approve, and you continue where you were. Make sure you approve with the Discord account you want to use.
The site sends me to /start or I cannot open the dashboard
The dashboard needs Pro or an active trial. If your trial or Pro ended, access stops. A teammate who shared a server with you? Open it from /shared instead, no Pro needed.
I paid but I do not have Pro yet
Pro usually activates within a minute. Refresh, or log out and in. Still nothing after a few minutes? Email contact@rustsurvivor.com with the email you paid with.
My teammate cannot open the server I shared
They must sign in with the same Steam account you invited, link Discord and open /shared. Check that you used their SteamID64 (17 digits).
Raid alerts do not arrive
Open Settings → 🚨 Smart Alarm. Check the alarm is listed under Your alarms, that the places you want (In game, Discord, Telegram, This website) are on, and that Discord or Telegram is linked. Tap Test next to the alarm to check delivery.

FAQ
How do I get started?
Sign in with Steam, add the browser extension once, then pair your server in game (Esc → Rust+ → Pair Server). The dashboard opens with a short guided tour and a “Get set up” checklist that ticks off each step (pair a server, link Discord, add the bot, raid alarms, a tracker, your base zone) and has a Show me button for each. The tour shows once (Skip ends it for good); replay it any time with the tour button at the top right.
Is it safe? Can I get banned?
RustSurvivor uses the official Rust+ companion feature from Facepunch, the same one the Rust+ app uses. It never asks for your Steam password; you sign in with Steam’s official login.
Do I need to keep my PC on?
No. With Pro the bot runs in the cloud 24/7.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The website works in any phone, tablet or PC browser. There is nothing to install except the one-time browser extension for setup.
Can I see enemy players on the map?
No. Rust+ only shares your own team and your own devices.
What happens to my map notes and farm routes when the server wipes?
A wipe brings a new map, so when RustSurvivor sees the new wipe it clears last wipe’s map notes (with their pictures), farm routes and shared-map drawings for that server, once. Anything made after the wipe stays. Open maps and shared map links update live and show a short notice. Your trackers, server settings, Discord and Telegram setup, base codes and shared map links are kept (a link set to expire at the wipe still closes, as chosen).
Can I link players to a map note?
Yes. In the Players tab press the pin button next to a player and tap a note: they are linked at once (with Undo), and tapping a ticked note removes them. The note card lists its players with online or offline when known, and Edit there adds or removes players. Up to 20 per note, for the note’s author, the owner or a manager. Friends on a shared map link that shows notes see the names and can tap one to open their BattleMetrics page (or Steam profile when there is none).
What is the difference between hours and real hours?
Real hours (!realhours or !rh) leave out AFK time.
Can I get the free trial again?
No. The 24-hour trial is one per account, forever.
Will I be charged again automatically?
Yes. Pro renews every month or year until you cancel on the Billing page.
How do I cancel?
Billing → Manage subscription → cancel. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Payments are handled by Creem. Available methods (cards and more, depending on your country) are shown at checkout.
Can I buy Pro as a gift?
Yes. Press Gift Pro on the Pro page: 1 month or 1 year, paid once and never renewed. Send it to a Steam account or share the gift link. Unredeemed gifts expire 1 year after purchase; your gifts and their status are on the Billing page.
Can I switch from monthly to yearly?
Use Manage subscription on the Billing page, or email contact@rustsurvivor.com for help.
Can I get a refund?
Access is delivered instantly, so payments are generally non-refundable once active. Billing mistakes and double charges are always fixed: email contact@rustsurvivor.com. See the Terms for the full policy.
Which cameras can I watch in the CCTV tab?
Your own deployed devices: CCTV cameras, PTZ cameras, auto turrets and drones. In game, hold E on the device and pick Set ID, then type that exact ID in the CCTV tab (IDs are case-sensitive). The device must be powered, the paired Rust account must be authorised on turrets and drones, that account must not be playing on the server while you watch, and the server must have Rust+ cameras turned on. Monument CCTV cameras can’t be opened here: /cctv and !cctv list their codes for Computer Stations in game.
How do I rename a switch?
Rename it in the dashboard, with the Rename button in the #switches Discord channel, or in the Rust+ app. The name is what you use in commands such as !turrets on.
How does Auto-translate work in team chat?
Turn on Auto-translate above the chat on your server page and pick your language. Every new team and clan message from other players is translated as it arrives, and the recent history when you switch it on; the original stays above the translation. Your own messages, messages already in your language, !commands, emoji and short replies like ok or ty are left as they are. If a line cannot be translated reliably you see Couldn’t translate with a Retry instead of a guess. The switch and the language are saved on your account. Translating does not use your daily AI questions.
Can I send my messages in another language?
Yes. On your server page, pick a language in the Send in… menu next to the Send button. When you press Send, your message is translated first and you see Will send: … with Send and Edit, so nothing goes out before you check it. If translation fails you can Send original. The choice is remembered per server on that browser. In game, type !tr de we need sulfur at G12 (any language code or name) and the translation is posted to team chat; in Discord, use /translate with send:True in #team-chat. Needs Pro, the free trial or a Pro owner's team, and does not use AI questions.
How do I talk to my team from Discord?
Write in the #team-chat channel (or #clan-chat for clan chat). It is sent to your team chat in game, and your team’s chat shows up there live. With several servers, reply to a message to send to that server only.
Does the AI send my questions to another company?
No. The RustSurvivor AI runs on our own server. Your questions are not sent to an outside AI provider.
How do I join the beta?
The beta is open to everyone. Sign in with Steam, connect Discord at rustsurvivor.com/connect-discord, then open a Beta access ticket in the RustSurvivor Discord with your SteamID64 or Steam profile link. Beta has every Pro feature with half the Pro limits and tracks 20 players.
Who can use Telegram alerts?
Pro, Beta and staff. The free trial and the free plan do not include Telegram. A chat you linked before is kept but paused until you have Pro or Beta again, then it starts by itself; you can unlink it any time.
Can I control switches from Home Assistant, Alexa or Stream Deck?
Yes, with Pro or the open beta. Make a personal API token in Settings → ⚙️ Advanced, card 🔌 API & Home Assistant, then press Copy Home Assistant config for ready-made switches (the token stays in secrets.yaml). Alexa and Google work through Home Assistant; Stream Deck through an HTTP request plugin. Add a webhook URL to get alarms, online raids, teammate, tracker, timer and wipe events as signed JSON. See API & Home Assistant above.
Can RustSurvivor call my phone during a raid?
Yes, with Pro. Turn on 📞 Phone call in Online raid mode (Settings, 🚨 Smart Alarm) and set up your phone there: connect your own Twilio, Telnyx or Plivo account (paste its keys and phone number; calls go out on that account, saved encrypted on your account only), then add your number in international format, tick the consent box, Send test call and type the 4-digit code. When alarms keep going off, nobody is online and nobody answers the Telegram alert, you get a real call that reads the alarm; press 1 to tell your team you are on it. At most 1 call per 10 minutes per server and 6 a day. Your provider bills your own account for the calls. Telegram itself cannot ring like a call: its raid alerts are messages with sound that repeat every minute until someone taps I’m on it (send /sound to the bot for an alarm tone).
What can I do from a Telegram alert?
Every alert has buttons: I’m on it (stops the repeats and tells your team who has it), Mute 1h, Open map and Server status (a popup with players and who is online). The first line says what happened and which alarm, the second the grid, server and time. Send /menu to the bot for Status, Alerts on/off, Mute, Test alarm and the alarm tone as buttons.
How many AI questions do I get?
Pro 100 a day, Beta 50, the free trial 20, and teammates of a Pro or Beta player 25. They are shared between !ai, /ai and the website and reset at 00:00 UTC. The server owner can turn teammate !ai off and set a per-teammate hourly limit (5 by default) in Settings, Ask AI.
Can the AI be wrong?
Raid, craft and recycle numbers come from real Rust data and exact raid questions are answered straight from it. General tips come from a small AI model and can be wrong.
Can I use more than one server?
Yes. Pair as many servers as you like; each keeps its own settings.
Is RustSurvivor made by Facepunch?
No. It is a community project, not affiliated with Facepunch or Valve. "Rust" is a trademark of Facepunch Studios.
