Privacy Policy
We value your privacy. This policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use RustSurvivor.
RustSurvivor collects minimal information necessary to provide our services efficiently and securely. The types of data we collect include:
- Account Information: Steam profile data (Steam ID, username, avatar) and Discord account information for bot integration.
- Game Data: Information retrieved from the Rust+ API that you explicitly authorize us to access, such as server details, team members, and in-game events.
- Player Intel (public data): When you look up a player, we retrieve and aggregate publicly available information about that player from third-party sources - Steam profiles (hours, bans, aliases), BattleMetrics (server history, ban records) and RustStats - to build the intel panels you see. This uses only public data those platforms expose to everyone.
- Alert Delivery: If you enable Telegram alerts, your Telegram chat ID and username are stored to deliver raid alarm notifications you requested. If you use Discord delivery, messages are sent through your connected Discord account.
- Billing Status: Subscription state (plan, activation, expiry, trial usage). Card details are never stored by us - payments are processed by our payment provider (see Third-Party Services).
- Usage Analytics: Anonymous, aggregated data on how you interact with our dashboard and Discord bot to help us improve the system.
We process your information for the following purposes:
- Service Delivery: To power the RustSurvivor bot, process your commands, and deliver real-time notifications from your Rust servers.
- Security & Authentication: To verify your identity, maintain session security, and prevent unauthorized access to your account.
- Communication: To send important account updates, technical notices, and respond to your support requests.
We implement industry-standard security protocols to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data transmitted between your device, our servers, and third-party APIs is encrypted using modern cryptographic standards (TLS/SSL).
We retain your data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the services. If you choose to delete your account, your personal data will be purged from our active databases within 30 days.
RustSurvivor acts as a bridge between multiple verified third-party platforms. When using our service, your data may interact with:
- Steam / Facepunch: For authentication and secure retrieval of Rust+ game state data.
- Discord: For webhook and bot integration, enabling real-time alerts directly in your servers.
- Telegram: To deliver the raid alarm alerts you explicitly enable. Used only for messages you request (alarms and their confirmations).
- BattleMetrics & RustStats: Public player statistics (server history, bans, hours) displayed in Player Stats and SmartIntel panels.
- Payment Provider: Subscriptions are processed by our payment partner. We only receive confirmation of the transaction and your subscription status - never your card details.

The RustSurvivor SmartIntel browser extension adds player and server intelligence for Rust to BattleMetrics and Steam profile pages. It is available on the Chrome Web Store (for Chrome, Brave, Opera and other Chromium browsers) and Firefox Add-ons. Its data practices are:
- What it reads: Publicly visible information on pages you open on battlemetrics.com and steamcommunity.com - player names, identifiers, playtime, server lists, ban flags and public profile details - used to compute the intel panels you see. Nothing is monitored outside these two sites.
- Stored locally in your browser: Your settings, private notes and tags, Steam↔BattleMetrics links, saved players, player groups, the watchlist, and a list of recently viewed player profiles. This data stays on your device unless you connect an account.
- Optional account sync: If you connect your RustSurvivor account, a session token is stored locally and your private notes and player observations (identifiers, names, hours, ban flags) sync to your account at rustsurvivor.com - along with a backup of your saved players, links, tracking lists and groups so they follow you across devices. The local copy in your browser is always kept. Disconnecting in the extension settings stops all syncing immediately.
- Opt-in alerts: The Watch and Radar features periodically re-check only the players and servers you explicitly marked, to deliver the notifications you enabled. No other browsing is monitored, and no data is sold or transferred to third parties.
- Your controls: All local extension data can be cleared from the extension's options page at any time; uninstalling removes it entirely. Data synced to your account can be deleted by disconnecting your account and requesting deletion through the contact options below.
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, please do not hesitate to contact our privacy team.
